Start a scope discussion04 / BEFORE WE BEGIN
Yes. Existing reports help establish the calculations, preparation steps and outputs your business relies on. They provide a practical starting point for defining the engagement.
You can start with a new Tableau dashboard or an existing workbook. Reporting automation can also be a separate engagement. Licensing, access and deployment arrangements are reviewed during scoping.
Pricing follows the agreed scope: data sources, preparation requirements, calculations, dashboard views, refresh arrangements and support. Deliverables and fees are defined before implementation; software licensing is identified separately.
Responsibilities are agreed explicitly. Your business may maintain the source data, or additional preparation and support can be included in scope. Refresh arrangements and handover instructions are documented.
